qgis 0.11.0 build error (undefined reference in liblapack.so.3)

I'm trying to get qgis 0.11.0 built (since I missed 0.10.0 entirely) and am 
encountering a strange error during the install phase; lots of errors like 
this related to liblapack.so.3, but only on i386 on F-8 and F-9 (not on any 
arch on F-10 or x86_64 on F-8 and F-9):

/usr/lib/atlas/liblapack.so.3: undefined reference to `ATL_dgbmv'
