Oh, please. Do you think that most people even _know_ what PA is
or what it does? Who has the time or interest to read tons of
release notes, and _remember_ this obscure alsamixer thing? 

Most folks expect to be able to get sound out of their box without
reading *anything* -- just by clicking on things that should be pretty
obvious withing 5-10s of looking at the computer. 

And that's the way it should be.
