I'm seeing a new failure on ppc/ppc64 with gcc 4.4 and plplot.  Build

This same package builds fine with 4.3.

F77 tests fail with:

fci = 0xbf947ae1, font name pointer = NULL
*** PLPLOT ERROR, ABORTING OPERATION ***
proc_str: FCI inconsistent with Type1Lookup; internal PLplot error, 
aborting operation

Don't really have an easy way to debug.
