It is quite true this wouldn't work for encrypted stuff. But then, I don't think there _IS_ any way for a third-party OS installer to decrypt another OSes partitions anyway. That just wouldn't make any sense, and if you were that advanced a user, you'd turn the "Automatic OS Detection" option off anyway.
