Howto build a static apcupsd package ?

Hi All, 

I am trying to build a static rpm of apcupsd but its failing with errors
on pastebin (http://pastebin.com/f101eee52) 

Can someone please suggest if something more needs to be done to
successfully compile apcupd as static ? 

SRPM of patch of makefile is on
http://fedorapeople.org/~kevinverma/apcupsd/apcupsd-3.14.7-1.fc11.src.rpm
