I've checked /etc/nsswitch.conf but is configured to use local files.

I've tryed both without luck.

I've modified the file in this way:
./$PRODUCT_BIN -d $PRODUCT_SUBDIR/config -strace $@
And so there is a new line in /opt/fedora-ds/admin-serv/logs/error :
[29/Jun/2005:09:35:38] failure ( 4191): Invalid configuration: Could
not determine base pathname of the file
I've tried the same things on Centos 4.1 and Fedora Core 4.
