I've gotten a few similar bug reports from the same reporter and been 
wondering what to do with them as well :)

IMHO these kind of fixes belong to upstream and that's where they should 
be reported to begin with, patching FE packages to shut up compiler 
warnings (especially when talking about a non FC compiler) isn't perhaps 
the most productive use of packagers' time.
