Why don't we always do this. so when fc4 final comes out we do an fc4
branch and make devel into fc5, etc?

Gafton didn't like that idea when we were first planning this, but now it seems that it makes a lot of sense. I think the concern was that the difference between devel and the latest stable distribution Extras would be *nothing* for a long while, so it would be a lot of redundant CVS commit spam and effort.


Maybe a compromise of a month or two after a stable release for branch splitting would be good, or at least when API/ABI begins to diverge and it becomes infeasible to use the previous Extras repository with rawhide anymore.

We can think about this more as FC4 final approaches.
