I would have also split the package if upstream already had provided two
sources. But now that you have already done it and documented it very
nicely in the spec file I see no problem at all with it.

No problem. We just maintain it together. So do I now post the same
package you have just posted or do I now review your changes...
I will have a look at it and come back later.
