Should not be necessary, because the current Makefile.common checks
out a fresh tobuild file _always_ (i.e. ignoring any changes in your
local working copy) before appending a _single_ build request line (not
two as in your example) prior to immediate commit, which should be
enough for the majority of cases.
In your case, according to cvs commit log, it really added two lines at once.
Weird. Do you really have the most recent "common" files?
