Sorry, not really answering your question, but in case you're building
clearsilver with the intention of submitting it to Extras, this could
save you some work:

I'd be glad to see this and trac (for which I have a pretty good package
ready too) included in Extras, but I don't have the time to maintain
them "in public", so not submitted :/
