This is moving to Core in FC5 to obsolete the Mozilla package. It is not intended to move to Core in later releases which do not have the Mozilla package.
1.) Package is still alive in Fedora Extras branches "FC-6" and "devel".
Yup.
2.) If the package is moved to Core (= Rawhide = FC7 devel), you are supposed to mark it dead in FE "devel", not in the FC-5 branch.
It is not dead in devel or FC6.
3.) What happens to the FE5 and FE6 packages? Remember, FE5 and FE6 are stable branches of Fedora Extras!
FE5 gets removed, Core packages get added. FE6 stays the same.
This is a rather crude way of using Extras as a testbed, then moving a package to Core and discontinueing it in Extras.
If you don't like that, then think of RHEL as the testbed. We are porting the RHEL specs over to seamonkey into FC5.
