I am reading between the lines of http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-fonts/#font-stretch
a bit, but I would argue that "next (expanded|condensed) value [from] the
inherited value" does imply the behavior I described, and also I would argue
that it would be bizarre if font-stretch worked differently from font-weight.
