I just wanted to say thanks alot for all your help here. From the first email
response I received I thought no one would have cared much about this update,
even though it is a "critical" update as it causes problems system-wide, but
then realised many had cared about it and updates were available.
I've applied the updates and rebooted the affected machines and things in the
world are fine again.
