I'm not at all sure about XP, but at least on my Windows 2000 box, if 
you want to use Internet Connection Sharing then the IP of the gateway 
*MUST* be set to 192.168.0.1.  Absolutely that and no other.   I do have 
this ICS working with Windows 2000 and supporting other Windows machines 
and a Linux machine (under RH 7, 8, 9, and now Fedora).
