May be is fam. Fam is a change-file monitor. When you mount any device (
net, cdrom, floppy...) fam follows the path to get a list of files and is
status. May be fam is running when you wanna umount. To test: Try to
unmount, if resource is busy, as root do 'killall fam', and try to unmount
again.
