2.6 kernel and PS/2 mouse

Hello,

I tried running 2.6 kernel and it does not detect my
mouse (ps2 optical wheel mouse). When I tried to
modprobe hid, I get message:
FATAL: keybdev not found.
FATAL: mousedev not found.

How I can type without keybdev is beyond my
understanding. So, any idea how to fix this? Btw, my
hardware spec is:
Duron 1GHz.
ECS K7S5A Motherboard (Sis 735 chipset).
Radeon 7500.
USB keyboard.
PS/2 mouse.
