2.6 kernel and PS/2 mouse

I don't have that mouse,
but I found I had to include 
Character devices=>Bus mouse support
as well as
Input device support=>Mice=>PS/2 mouse
in "make xconfig" on my Sony Vaio C1VFK.

I don't recall having to include both in 2.4.23
