Is there a list of repositories which can be used with up2date anywhere? Im
just looking for a mirror of the official fedora one, with no extra packages
based in the UK

hummmm...Good question. using "yum install ..." you add packages that
are not in your system or update to a new version if you have one
already (it will ask you if you want to upgrade it).
Both take care of dependencies, both can be configured to use whatever
repositories you want... And so on...
IMHO it is a matter of taste, or faith since I have seen many comments
on crashes of respositories (on both yum and apt).
I think you are safe using either one.
Glad to be of help!
