final recipe for LVM1 -> LVM2, then 2.4 -> 2.6?

  after a spate of LVM-related postings recently, is there a final recipe for
a surefire way, under a stock install of FC1, to first move from LVM1 to
LVM2, then upgrade to the 2.6 kernel?

  i've been perusing the archives, and there still seem to be some reservations
about the best approach.  a pointer to a URL, if one exists, would work fine.
i've got a spare box that i can test it on with no worries if i trash something
and i can summarize the results.
