If you installed java with an rpm as Thomas describes, then you can ask rpm where the files are:
rpm -ql j2re


If you actually downloaded and installed the sdk instead:
rpm -ql j2sdk

Take note of what directory your files are in e.g. /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/
If your directory is different, then edit /etc/profile.d/java.sh changing each directory reference to match. You did follow that part of Thomas's directions right?


If /etc/profile.d/java.sh has the correct mode and uses the right java directory then it should work. Make sure you do log out and back in to pick up any change to java.sh.
