The IP address and netmask should hot be there. The DHCP daemon should
set the card in promiscuous mode and listen for the DHCP server. Upon
locating the server it will ask for and hopefully be assigned an IP
address.
1) Is the DHCP daemon running and looking at the proper card<
2) Check the HWADDR against the ifconfig HWADDR and /etc/modules.conf
information.
3) Is the server listening and hearing properly (cables, modems, and
the like good).
