OK. Well, eth0 is up....

And passing traffic....

> root at sbe-60 root]# mii-tool eth0

But mii-tool sees no link....

>From earlier posts it was clear that ethtool also sees
no link.

Quite strange indeed.

Could I ask what ethernet hardware you're using? 

Also, a couple of other threads on ethernet problems had
recommendations to change the functions that report the
link status. Have you done any of that to your
networking scripts?
