yum update 2179 kernel

I experienced the same problem.  Since I'm not a big command line guru, I 
used the grub module in Webmin to make 2179 the default boot kernel.

	http://www.webmin.com

You can load it up from the site above, just choose the RPM in the top 
right corner of the screen and run this command at the root prompt, 
substituting webminxx.xxx.xxx with the exact file you just downloaded:

	rpm -Uvh webminxx.xxx.xxx

I can do nearly all admin tasks on Fedora with this invaluable tool.
