ATI Rage Mobility with Xorg - anyone got this working

Thanks very much for taking the trouble to send me this.
I tried it, but unfortunately it gave me the same problem
with all attempts at 16bpp -
I get a black oval shrinking to a blank white screen,
with no errors reported anywhere as far as I can see.

I wonder could you send me your /var/log/Xorg.0.log ,
and I'll see how it compares with mine.
