*If* you are using kde, it has a minor glitch, and has had it for the 
last 2 major versions.  On the first even numbered Sunday of an even 
numbered month (or some other equally hard to define scenario) I have 
to re-enter the password in my configure pulldown 
kmail>network>receiving>modify screen.  It will be good then till the 
next occurrance of the trigger condition.
