(1) You could add this modprobe command to /etc/rc.d/rc.local

(2) I would see if any of

alias scsi_hostadaptor aic7xxx
alias scsi-hostadaptor aic7xxx
alias scsi aic7xxx

in /etc/modules.conf work.
