Update blip???

This morning I asked my Fedora Core2 to look for updates.  It found a 
lot of them and I installed them.  Afterwards by ICON changed, the email 
icon to application was hosed, key repeat no longer works, clicking on a 
link in a web browser does nothing.

I have been through keyboard settings and browser properties but no luck 
changing the behavior.


Am I the only one with this problem?

Any suggestions for fixing it?
