Delete desktop icons

Hi!

Is there a way for me to delete *any* desktop icon?


Some desktop icons cannot be deleted under FC2 Gnome graphical environment (eg. Computer  or  user_login's Home).
More: neither of these icons are located in  /home/user_login/Desktop.
So, where are their definitions? Can I delete them?

In fact, I would rather change some of their laucher definitions (eg. add --n to nautilus  user_login's Home (to always navegate on same window)).
Can I do that?
