VDQ : FC1 > FC2 ??

Urk. I needed an embarrassing amount of help when FC1 was still newish;
then I got a new flat-panel monitor, and needed as much again. I tucked my
tail between my legs instead, went back to RH9, and waited to try again
till FC2 came out. By then, the monitor was available as a choice on the
Display GUI, and all swam.

On one machine, that is, it swam. On the other (a backup), I've never been
able to get gnome-terminal to give me a prompt. And KDE's terminals give
me eyestrain. So I was hoping an upgrade would supersede the
gnome-terminal, or whatever is bollixing it ....

That much, from anyone who obviously knows a lot more than I, is a very
serious warning. Guess I better go learn about the legacy project --
well-night automated updating, especially of security issues, has always
been a sine qua non for my use of linux. I don't know enough to do
otherwise ....
