can't change screen resolution

I didn't change anything yet. Down here you can read the copy of my
/var/log/Xorg.0.log file.
Actually I can see the problem: there is a line that says:

(II) TRIDENT(0): Removing mode (1024x768) larger than the LCD panel
(800x600)

Is it possible? Before Fedora, I had windows on this same machine, and I
was used to work with 1024x768 resolution.
I don't know what I shoud do, then.

About the touch pad: is this one (Xorg.o.log) the log file you need to
find out any problem? if not, just tell me. thanks.
