CDrom burning ???

Xcdroast,k3b.Gnome CD creator,all three give error:  

"Trying to open /dev/scd0 exclusively"

I am using Fedora1 any kernel ver# , on three different computers, same 
problem. using grub
Do a /usr/bin/cdrecord -scanbus and ,
0,0,0   plextor, writer is shown
0,1,0    sony, reader is shown
 
and shows up in Xcdroast,k3b,Gnome cd creator as scd0, scd1.
What gives with /dev/scd detection.
I'm trying burn the Fedora2 CD iso's.
