USB Iomega zip drive problem

I am using an external Iomega zip drive connected to a USP port.  I
had no problem with it on Redhat 9.  I installed Fedora 1 and have had
problems with it.  I am running kernel 2.4.22-1.2174.nptl.  When I
mount /mnt/zip, the messages log shows:

I can run an ls /mnt/zip, but if there is a subdirectory, the ls of
the directory logs the messages shown at the end of this email and
nothing shows up in the ls listing.  I have tried multiple zip disks
and they all show problems on Fedora.  I don't see this problem when
connecting the zip drive to a Windows system.  I have seen other
people mention USB issues but their device still seems to work.
The zip drive is pretty much not usable.  Does anyone know what the
problem might be?  Thanks.
