Lost KDE menus

This is very strange; I had expected otherwise. There should be a directory 
/usr/share/applications full of .desktop files. That's where KDE looks for 
its menu. Ther is also /usr/share/applnk-redhat, but I don't really know how 
Red Hat patched kdelibs for it to support it.
