Xine Woes

I've been having some problems with Xine...

The problem:  The screen is green, with some diagonal lines through it,
and the picutre can almost be made out underneath the green...

To get things working again, I uninstalled Xine, and then proceeded to
install an earlier version.  (Xine: 0.9.22.0.fdr.0.94 xine-lib:
1.0.0.0-0.fdr.17.rc2.0.95 xine-lib-devel 1.0.0-0.fdr.0.17.rc2.0.95)

And there was happiness.

Until it stopped working again for no apparent reason.  Nothing was
installed or removed.  It just hoarked.

Has anyone else seen this sort of behavior, or have clues as to what mught
be going on?
