Do you use the default display manager? If so, have a look at the
autologin hooks in /etc/X11/prefdm. This is started by init when it
enters runlevel 5 (see /etc/inittab). If autologin is installed and
configured (in /etc/sysconfig/autologin) it will be invoked.
If you do not use the default display manager, you can add your own hook
into inittab to start a custom session. But the method above is likely
to be easier.
