I did leave some a bit confused with my original post.   A version of
Eclipse compiled with gcj is what I was looking for.   Ideally in a yum
repository built for Fedora.

Having downloaded a number of versions of Eclipse I can honestly say I
like what I see but am frustrated often by its speed or sluggishness.  
My understanding is that I would be able to find RPM's somewhere on
RedHats site, I just haven't spent the time to look.
