Upgrade from 7.3 -> Fedora.

I've been doing 'live' upgrades of RedHat 9 and a few RH 8 machines with no problem, that is to say using rpm and up2date to upgrade and then rebooting.
However RH7.3 is a little harder due to the GLIBC being 2.2 vs 2.3, this leads to the dreaded :
"libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3) is needed by openssl096" error.
Anybody else been doing 7.3->Fedora updates using only an SSH connection ![:)]()
I've done one machines but it was really quit a hack.
