funny you have the same problem that i had when i got the new kernel,
however i uninstaled alsa and reinstalled it. BTW my alsa would not
even start in the beginning
Sorry, but how did you do that? Isn't alsa a kernel module that gets
updated automatically whenever you update the kernel?
