Something is wrong

I have the following system.

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
512 DDR333 RAM
GeForce FX 5200 128MB RAM

However, when I run glxgears maximised, I only get a frame rate of
108FPS. something is obviously wrong. Is anyone else having issues with
the 5336 drivers, or could I have a serous problem with my config. I
checked XF86config and everything is as it should be.

I am running on "millions of colors" at 1280x1024
