Paul, We both are right in certain conditions.
I left off the qualification part of the statement above.
The exclude line needs to be in the [main] section if it is to apply to
all servers.
Excludes in the [server] section only apply to servers in that section.
This is out of the man page for yum.conf on my FC2 system with
yum-2.0.8-37.rhfc2.at
