No Fedora RPMs then, you should strictly avoid such packages or you get
more pain than you paid for.

How did you configure cups? Does accessing the browser based
administration work through http://localhost:631/? What does the
/var/log/cups/error_log tell you? What does "lpstat -v" print out?
