Just to add to this.
I have just tried using a LiveCD that I had laying around that uses
Kernel 2.4 and samba 2.2. I am able to mount this directories with out
any problem and navigate.
I do not see any smb time outs or general nastynes. Does any one have
any suggestions? I think I may add this to bugzilla but am unsure of
what I should submit the bug against.
