Never tried that, really. I don't see why not, I guess... boot notebook
with external keyboard and video attached, use whatever key combo to
select only the external display, and I would guess it should work.
Don't see why not.

I don't have a Y-adapter for PS/2, but I guess I could try the
experiment at home using the keyboard and video. If it's important to
you, I'll be glad to test it.
