I could do that, but studypc gets its address from my Linux machine which is 
also doing dhcp, so if the address gets reassigned, I'd be out of luck. I 
guess I could assign it a permanent address, but, that wouldn't do for the 
laptop, which is connecting to networks all over the place, and has to get 
its addresses via dhcp - that is my wife's machine, and I don't think it 
would function for me to try to educate her on changing her IP address 
assignment method everytime her location changes.
