A really clean text editor

In kwrite, try various options for "carriage return" under tool drop down 
menu. Maybe with cr-lf (GUIdos).
Exactly same problem is currently visible on bugzilla website - all its 
pages open with mile long horizontal scroll bar in IE6. This may not be 
happeneing in linux browsers.
