Help! Can't get into X on iMac 17" 1GHZ Flat Panel

Have installed FC4 on iMac 17" Flat Panel 1Ghz and the X windowing system 
will not load.  It puts me into root command line only.  I have read some on 
how to fix it in xorg.conf but it was for another machine.  Anyone know how 
to make this iMac work.
