re: FC3/Gnome/no refresh of desktop/gamin

I may be way off base with the cause? - but does anyone know of a workaround 
for refreshing the gnome desktop when a change is made?

This is one of the  things that is stopping an upgrade from FC1 for me - the 
users definately wouldn't cope with a manual reload.
