Dumb queston, but have you tried to youse yumex (a yum frontend quite 
similar to synaptic) or plain old yum to install it, and see if that is 
the problem? If not, most probably the problem is in your 
/etc/apt/sources.list file for not having an URL for the dependencies to 
be satisfied from.
