Kernel panic in setup for FC3

Hi all,

  I'm trying to install FC3 on a Gateway G6-400. It starts the 
installer fine, and checks out the computer. It then attempts to 
run /sbin/loader, but this error comes up:

[<c030c138>] common_interrupt+0x18/0x20

<0>Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt


How can I get around this?
